Calculate average fluid velocity from flow rate and internal pipe diameter.
Estimate Reynolds number from flow rate, internal diameter, fluid density, and dynamic viscosity.
Estimate total system head from static lift, friction head, minor-loss head, and pressure difference.
Estimate straight-pipe friction head and pressure drop using the Darcy friction factor.
Engineering note: These tools provide preliminary calculations for learning and checking. They do not replace project-specific design, applicable codes, manufacturer data, or review by a qualified engineer. Pipe velocity and Reynolds number depend on the actual internal diameter and fluid properties. Reynolds flow-regime thresholds are indicative for internal pipe flow. Pump head requires correctly determined static, friction, minor-loss, and pressure components. Darcy-Weisbach estimates straight-pipe friction only and requires an appropriate Darcy friction factor; fittings, valves, and other minor losses are excluded.
